Infants

ACA’s infant area was specifically designed and built to be safe and meet the needs of very young children. While they are alert and active, the infants are challenged and stimulated in an open environment. Babies spend their waking time playing on the floor, having stories read to them, interacting with their teachers, and are only in their cribs during naptime. Weather permitting, all infants and one-year-olds are taken outside for stroller rides to get fresh air and sunshine.

Activities for Infants

Physical Stimulation - Young babies are developing at a very fast pace at this stage and require gross motor activities to help develop and fine-tune movement skills to achieve simple body movements for mobile infants.

Ball games - Helps to produce movements of the legs as well as the hands, developing coordination.

Bell Anklets - Helps to produce movement of the legs.

Turning and changing position - Helps to produce movement in the large muscle groups.

Offer objects at a reasonable distance - Helps to produce movement in small muscle groups and also requires concentration skills.

Crawl games - Any game which helps to stimulate the crawling mechanisms in the baby.

Intellectual Stimulation - Through verbal exchanges, playing music, making various noises, we have the infants explore for objects for size, shape, color, texture, movement, position and sound. Self awareness is spurned as we help facilitate bottle holding, fingering foods, picking up small objects, learning to creep, crawl and walk.

Social Development - Through interaction with familiar people and each other, the babies receive reassurance and nurturing at all times. Our caregivers offer a gentle touch and a calm voice while encouraging friendly play.

Daily Report

To keep you abreast of your child’s progress, our staff keeps a log of all your child’s feedings, diaper changes and activities, as well as his or her general mood and disposition. A copy of the daily report is given to each parent every day.

Better Hygiene

Good hygiene is one of the areas where we consistently earn an A+. We have incorporated a strict protocol to ensure a very healthy environment.

Dedicated Cribs - We guarantee a dedicated crib for your baby only, where all the crib paraphernalia and toys are his or hers alone.

Sleeping Mats - The 1-year-olds each sleep on the same mat every day at nap time, which is disinfected every day.

Vertical Cribs - Vertical cribs isolate a child from other children.

Crib Sheets - We change the crib sheets on a regular basis.

Toys - All crib toys are disinfected regularly and are never shared by two children.

Hygiene - The play mat is disinfected after each use.

Hand Washing - Teachers use disinfectant soap in regular hand-washings.

Nightly Cleaning - Teachers use disinfectant soap in regular hand-washings.
